Our faithful president, Jake, is just about the best mentor you could ask for. Jake has traveled from his hometown in Kaysville, Utah to Paris to work with ESCP Europe. He’s also worked with FranklinCovey, HOJ Innovations, and Bradley PR. He dreams of working with corporate management and raising BYU’s PR program back into the top 5. Jake loves basketball so much that he got his four front teeth knocked out while playing. And we know he’d do it again if it meant helping you grow in your PR career. Kimball is beginning his 4th year as a PRSSA Veteran hailing from Knoxville, TN! He already has a powerful resume having interned at Franklin Covey, Freddette Family Foundation and Wallaroo. He uses his writing, public speaking and networking skills to connect people across the globe and build meaningful relationships. His committee goals are to bring back awards to BYU PR and for individual students to win scholarships and awards as some of the best PR students in the country. Lauren Holbrook is a senior in the PR program from Lake Zurich, Illinois. She loves cheese, road trips, and horseback riding! Lauren’s got an eye for strategy and has intentions to help her committee create and execute awesome campaigns around campus this year. If you’re looking for an internship, Lauren has tons of connections in Utah County and can also help proofread any papers you send her way. Still not convinced of her amazingness? Jeff is a senior in the Public Relations program. He is from Highland, Utah, but don’t let that face fool you. He can kill it on the drums just as well as Neil Peart. Jeff plays in a wedding band and loves watching chick flicks with his wife. He has worked with Intermountain Healthcare, BYU CFAC, and even the Fredette Family Foundation, but his true dream job is working strategic communications and public affairs for the Church. Lauren is a senior in the PR program from Salt Lake City, Utah. Okay, she’s really from East Millcreek City but it’s close enough! Lauren has worked on PR projects for BYU Department of Microbiology and Molecular biology, Venture Out! Festival Series, Peery Foundation and Wallaroo agency. She currently works in the BYU Ballard Center planning events including the Peery Film Festival and TEDxBYU. She loves helping individuals and organizations find greater purpose and enabling them to have real impact. When she is not working on PR campaigns, you can find her in the dance studio, riding in the family Jeep, or color coding her daily planner.

Addy is a senior and works as a “Fashion Stylist and Public Relations Intern” at Jane.com and absolutely loves it! This summer my husband and I will be headed to San Francisco, and I hope to intern at Hyp3r, or a large agency. She loves nutrition and health, and would love to work in public health communications or do PR for a health and wellness magazine. She also has a passion for design-interior, fashion, oral, graphic and would love to do PR for a design company or Real Simple magazine.

Cole is a Junior in the Public Relations program from Dallas, TX and has a serious passion for technology and space! His dream job is to work for SpaceX or Tesla, but recently he was worked with Storefront Political Media in San Fransico, EKR Agency in Provo and Park Street Strategies in Washington D.C.. Cole is ambitious, 3/8 Salvadoran and 1/8 Chinese, and is the biggest James Bond fan you do or do not know. Colin Wylie, from Canada is starting his junior year studying public relations and already has two years of PRSSA work under his belt! He’s also had experience with the Boy Scouts of America, BYU Y-Serve and the Now I Can foundation, but his dream job is working in corporate social responsibility. This dedicated Canadian can sing, act, play basketball and work the non-profit circuit practically at the same time. Colin’s dedication to publications in PRSSA is so passionate, that it’s almost tangible! More good news? It’s contagious!
Christopher Wilson received a Ph.D. in mass communications from the University of Florida (2014). He received an M.A. (2009) in mass communications and a B.A. (1999) in communications from Brigham Young University. Wilson worked as a public relations professional for 12 years. From 1999 through 2004, he worked in a variety of public relations capacities for West Valley City, Utah’s second-largest city. From 2004 to 2011, he worked as the public relations manager for the BYU Museum of Art, the best-attended university art museum in North America. Wilson has taught the introduction to public relations and public relations writing and production courses. His research interests focus on public relations management and strategy.
He has published in the Journal of Public Relations Education, the Journal of Communication Management, Public Relations Review, and the Public Relations Journal. He has won top paper awards for his research from the International Institute for Public Relations Research Conference and the Association of Educators in Journalism and Mass Communication.
