Favorite Sector of PR: It's hard for me to pick a favorite, I love everything that has to do with public relations! I really like non-profit, political/government, and crisis management.
Why PR: I love to write, find logical solutions to problems, and help people. I'm very organized and like to take issues step by step, identify possible solutions, then solve the problem. It is interesting for me to try and find different solutions to a single problem. I also like writing anything from press releases and articles to blogs and brochure copy.
Favorite Class Outside of Dept: I loved my deductive logic class so much I decided to minor in logic. Interests: Reading , writing, photography, desktop publishing, basketball

Favorite Sector of PR: Agency because of the constantly changing and fluid environment. I thrive in a fast-paced, on-your toes world.
Why PR: I love how strategic communication can change peoples’ lives. You walk away at the end of the day knowing you made a difference. PR requires intelligent, creative, hard-working, dedicated, organized, competent people. It’s hard work but the pay-off is hundred-fold.

Susan Walton
Faculty Advisor
Susan Balcom Walton joined the BYU faculty in June 2006 after working for 20 years in PR and communications for Fortune 500 companies. She served as a global communications leader for Plastics Communications at Dow Chemical in Midland, Michigan, including a two-year assignment in Switzerland managing the company's European and global plastics communications. She was also the Director of Corporate Communications at Boise Cascade, where she oversaw all communications activities for Boise's 2003 acquisition of OfficeMax. Most recently, she was director of corporate communications for Harley-Davidson Motor Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Susan began her career as a tenure-track professor of English and professional communications at Monroe Community College and State University of New York and is delighted to be back in the classroom.
Mike Judson
Professional Advisor
Mike Judson is currently a manager in the Area Relations Division of LDS Church Public Affairs. While studying for his BA degree in Communications from BYU (1987) Judson began a career in high-tech public relations which lasted nearly 15 years at companies such as Novell, Folio and Ancestry.com. In October 2000 he joined LDS Church Public Affairs, first focusing on international area relations in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the Pacific Islands and the Philippines. Following the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, he was re-assigned to the General Authority Outreach Division and named executive secretary to the department's international committee. More recently his assignment has been re-focused on international support and training with an emphasis on public affairs activities in the following areas: Asia, Asia North, Philippines, Pacific Islands, Australia, New Zealand & Pacific Islands, Africa West and Africa Southeast. A native of northern California, Mike is a prior president of the Association of Latter-day Saint Public Relations Professionals and a current board member of the LDS International Society. Mike and his wife are the parents of five children. He is also an avid distance runner and gardener.
Linda Walton
Bradley PR Advisor
Linda P. Walton graduated from Utah State University with a BS in journalism with a public relations focus in 1976. She is currently the president of The Walton Group, Inc. a public relations firm in Provo. She is affiliated with the Public Relations Society of America where she is both accredited and a Fellow. She began working at BYU in 1994 and currently advises Bradley Public Relations, the student public relations firm in the communications department. Involved in various community groups, she currently serves on the board for the United Way, American Red Cross, UVSC Marketing Committee, UVSC Ethics Committee and the Utah Valley Interfaith Association.
